THIS 3-PART ARTICLE PRESENTS THE ROLE, SERVICES AND QUALIFICATIONS OF
BOARD-CERTIFIED CLINICAL NUTRITIONISTS (C.C.N.)!
The science of Clinical Nutrition was officially established in 1990, but began in the mid-1980s. Other titles for this profession are Functional Medicine, Orthomolecular Medicine and more recently, Medical Nutrition, due to medical doctors who are recommending vitamin and mineral supplements. However, the foundational science is in Clinical Nutrition and the most knowledgable and trained are the C.C.N.'s.

Also, Dr. Smith's Clinical Nutrition Therapies are designed on the principles of the "whole food concept of healing," i.e., based on your test results she dispenses the clinically-formulated, therapeutic "whole food" vitamin/mineral supplements, homeopathics or herbs your test indicate your body needs to heal itself.
----
However, not all C.C.N.'s practice this concept of healing, but chooses to dispense synthetically-made or isolates, which Dr. Smith refers to as "Nutritional Drugs." For more information on Nutritional Drugs, read THE VILLAGER article titled, "Taking Vitamins or Nutritional Drugs!"
